Broke it...again

Ok. I've been doing pretty good at things for over a year. Until today. An old admin changed the god password. So I went in and took it out of the db like the instructions say...saved out. Went to do the ./restart script and it locked up for over an hour. ctrl-C'd out...tried it again..it says it ran but no game came back up. Freaked out a little bit. Tried doing a 'make clean ; make ' as I had to do once before and it errors out all over the place. I think I broke it for good this time.
So..my question is..how do I get my game back up? And if it is necessary to take my databases and do a fresh install..how do I do that?

You backed up the database
You backed up the database first, right?
If you email it to me, I'll strip the God password for you if you like. Or you can use one of the other approaches for resetting the password, assuming that you have a working backup to start from (like the gdb approach).
Game back up
Well, I got the game back up and did actually do it under a newer version of Penn too. Heh. Just took me a while. I ran Raevnos's script and it should have unpassworded One. But maybe I just dont' know what to do after that. I will send you the DB as you requested. And yes, I have backups galore now :)
