Space Systems
If you decide to do a space system episode, I can probably track down Gepht, the author/inventor of HSpace for an interview. While I could discuss it, most of my involvement has been support and maintenance, not revolutionary capabilities.
HSpace is only one of a few that have been used over the years but it has a significant history from being softcoded, being a patched server add-on, to utilizing interfaces made available by the server developers.
Thanks, that would be very
Thanks, that would be very helpful!
a-space
I'm hunting down Atty, who is still developing the Aspace system. I'll let you know if it seems like he might be interested.
aspace
I'm around. Toss me an email if and when you need me.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I think what we need to do,
I think what we need to do, is distinguish between Aspace and Aspace, in the beginning there was Aspace (which we will call AttySpace), Atty released it to the public and then vowed never to support it, from then on, it continued to be called Aspace and get maintained by lots of people over the years.
Now, we have AttySpace which is the space system used on ATS, and we have Aspace which is the version that i have been maintaing for a few years now (since aspace.whizy.com closed down and even before that since those goes were no longer supporting it) so around 2004.
Mind you, due to the changes I have been making with regards to the internals of the system (cleaning it up, making it run faster, making it easier to use that sorta thign), it is likely what we know as Aspace might eventually become Qspace.
Innovation/OOB Entertainment?
One of the things I'm starting to see sort of try to take off is what I'd like to call "Out-of-Band" entertainment, or interaction with MU* and their own communities through other means unachievable or not otherwise possible in the protocols MU* use. For example - something I was reminded of when I was listening to the 8bit episodes - One of the other great things about 8bit is the community and the sorts of out-of-band entertainment, most notably of these, 8bit Radio. I've noticed rumbles and trends in other MUSHen wishing to do the same.
In the class of Innovatory ideas to MUSH and text-based gaming, could we expect more or different kinds of "Out-of-band" communications and entertainment relating to the communities? What kinds of ideas have been attempted?
