Upcoming RP event: Charles and the Chocolate Empire
I'm running a one-shot RP event entitled "Charles and the Chocolate Empire" at M*U*S*H on Oct 20 from 6:30-10:30 US Central Time. The setting is Wonka's Chocolate Factory, 15 years after the books. It's for 10-14 players and I still need some, so come on to M*U*S*H and +signup javlarp if you want in. Character sheets will be emailed in advance. Here's the blurb:
Charles Bucket, owner of Wonka's Chocolate Factory, has just announced that he will be holding a 15-year reunion of the children who toured the factory with him under the auspices of the late William ('Willy') Wonka. This will be the first time that outsiders have set foot in the factory since that tour.
Mr. Wonka, pioneer of chocolate confections and owner of the world's largest chocolate factory, was declared legally dead last week, six months after Mr. Bucket reported him missing. Mr. Bucket, 25, has assumed full control of the factory, and speculates that Mr. Wonka may have perished in an industrial accident. Mr. Wonka's own legal measures prevent investigations from occurring within the factory.
Mr. Bucket himself has been interviewed several times by local authorities, but foul play is not suspected in the disappearance. "Mr. Wonka has always been particular about privacy, and less so about his own safety," said Sam Slugworth, factory assistant manager.
Asked to comment on the latest events, Mike Teevee, junior executive with the advertising firm Dick, Slick, and Slyme, expressed sadness. "A disappearance is a terrible thing. There's so little to see." Philanthropist Veruca Sugar (nee Salt) also expressed regret. "He was a great man, and I owe so much to him." Augustus Gloop and Violet Simmons (nee Beauregard) were not available for comment.
Wonka's Chocolate Factory is a privately held company. Cacao futures continue to decline despite Mr. Bucket's public declaration that he has no intention of changing either the name or the products of the factory. "This will always be Wonka's," he said. Analysts note, however, that Wonka's has been purchasing fewer cacao beans on the open market in the last several years, and speculate that a deal may have been struck with a private grower.
