Self-Hosting

Alrighty, I've pretty much got things set up and ready...but herein lies the problem; I'm broke. I tried setting up the MUSH to run on my computer, and it works when I'm running Hamachi-- but is there a way to host it, without setting up a VPN? Telnetting straight to my IP from another computer doesn't seem to work...is there some sort of special setup I need to do?
As a sidenote, Hardrive, memory, bandwidth etc shouldn't be an issue; until I've got all the kinks worked out, it'll be a private game, available to a good half-dozen people only.

Don't what Hamachi or VPN
Don't what Hamachi or VPN is, but have you tried this place http://www.no-ip.com/ ? I use them to redirect to my computer address. It allows others to connect to it.

Hosting
As long as you don't have a firewall blocking the port you chose in mush.cnf (and the computer you're using to connect allows outgoing connections on that port, as some public computers may not), all you should need to do is start up the MUSH and "telnet <your ip>:<port>".
If you don't want to self-host, though, there are a few people out there doing commerical MU hosting, usually fairly cheaply, and at least one that I know of (IsUnlimited.net) who do a small, free package for people developing a game.
Self-hosting
Hi,
I use dyndns.org and a small update client to keep my dynamic ip address synced to my hostname abc.dyndns.org. You need to make sure that the thing is setup to accept wildcards (eg abc.dyndns.org as well as www.abc.dyndns.org).
Cheers,
