I am...

sad hack's picture

I'm sure there will be much rejoicing over this announcement. Likewise, there will be some politically correct acknowledgments that it is my right to do as I choose with what is mine. So on, and so forth. I doubt that there will be any voices crying out 'WTF?! Why?! Don't do this!' for fear of public mockery (of the kind I have recently endured).

There's a saying "You can't take it with you.".

This saying only applies to material 'stuff'. It does not apply to ideas. It does not apply to the mind of a proven creator (as opposed to the many dime-a-dozen, highly proficient, yet totally uncreative copycats and emulators).

When you gather into groups, large or small, in order to silence a creative voice, you harm the universe in one of the most profoundly destructive ways.

I leave this final message for those who come after me.

Look where I was when I left. It's a small thing to pick it up and carry on with it in private. It is even smaller to pick it up and carry on with it in public. It is an enormous thing, however, to look at it and defend it; to pick it up, and defend it.

I now lock this series of events in place, in the hearts and souls of those who know and those who slept through it, via the ultimate form of multi-key locking. I no longer give of myself freely unto this world. I'm taking it with me.

What is here stands (I'm not "taking my toys and going home" - I'm just going...). What I have proven, time and again, that I have to offer this community - my creativity - I take with me. Personal attacks (whether they are delivered to my face, such as the one I endured this weekend - on my birthday, no less; or they are delivered by cowards in my absence, like those I've seen in recent logs) are the highest form of outspoken stupidity and undeservedness. The only 'louder' voice than those, however, are the countless silent voices who refused to dissent. You all lose. Each and every one of you. You lose what I once offered. You lose my creativity. I'm taking it with me.

I am...

(p.s. I'm sure it was just an 'accidental bug', but yesterday, in my attempt to offer a reasoned word off assurance in a separate thread discussion, my account was flagged as a 'spambot' -- wonder how this happens *after* it was already authorized for self-verifying posting ... and immediately after questioning the implementation of that. Hmmm... I must be a paranoid. Either way, I'm outie... byebye.)

Not a spambot

FWIW, your account wasn't flagged as anything, but something you were attempting to post appears to have looked just enough like spam to the various filters that that particular posting was prevented. (That's a separate process apart from the approval/verified bit, and is independent of who the user is).
