HSpace 5 Looking for Testers!
Submitted by Mongo on Tue, 2009-03-17 07:49HSpace 5
From the ashes of HSpace 4 rises a new hard coded space
engine, HSpace 5.0. Completely re-written from the ground
up in C++, this version boasts a much faster and streamlined
engine. With several new major features such as modular
systems and Newtonian physics simulation this version of
HSpace is growing very quickly!
But we want your help! Player and Game Developer feedback
is crucial at this point in HS5's development. So we invite
everyone to come and try the system out by playing on our
HSpace:ME 4.4.1p1 Released
Submitted by Mongo on Fri, 2009-01-02 14:23I have released a small update to HSpace 4.4.1 to bring it inline with the current distribution of PennMUSH 1.8.3p7.
Changes:
* Fixed the helpfiles that were missing from 4.4.1 (svn)
* Made a couple small changes to code for compatability
* Updated INSTALL_GUIDE.txt to work with PennMUSH 1.8.3p7
* Modified Unman command to work with no arguments. Players can now issue this command alone and the system will check to see if they are on a console, and remove them from it if so. You can still use the old format of unman .
HSpace 4.4.1 + Penn1.8.3p7 Working
Submitted by Mongo on Sat, 2008-12-06 15:09I have been fighting with trying to get HSpace working with Penn 1.8.3p4 - 1.8.3p6 without much luck, mostly due to compile errors that shouldnt have existed. So I finally decided to upgrade to 1.8.3p7 since there were a lot of good changes and I thought what the heck I will try HSpace again. Low and behold, it compiled cleanly after following the somewhat outdated instructions from HSpace. I can not make any promises of stability but it works at this point in time.
Have Code, Will Travel
Submitted by Mongo on Sat, 2008-04-26 22:56Synergy is progressing very well, the core chargen system is complete, basic equipment system complete, Combat is nearing completion, and a whole list of other goodies are in the works!
But the conundrum is I am suffering from Theme-Dysphoria... The original theme I had intended to use for the Synergy system to be built in is loosing its luster in my eyes. I have every intention of creating a popular and fun MUSH that people will enjoy playing on, but I am torn when it comes to theme.
The Beggining of the Synergy system for Character Management and Combat
Submitted by Mongo on Sun, 2008-04-20 19:05Today I managed to finalize some ideas and get some work done on paper for my new character system that will become the backbone of Last Bastion MUSH. I took concepts from several systems I enjoy and think work well in this sort of environment and applied some new logic to them. I don't want to give away all of the concepts now, so I will hold off until things are more finalized, but I do intend to release the code eventually for wide distribution by anyone who likes the system. It will require SQL but I plan to build the table creation etc into the installer.
Starting Over Yet Again
Submitted by Mongo on Sat, 2008-04-19 17:36It seems like over the years since I first discovered MUSHing I have time and time again gotten started on trying to develop my own creation. I think youth was honestly my biggest obstacle. Being about as ADD as you can get when I was young I would focus insane amounts of energy into creating something and once I had developed something really awesome I would feel satisfied and then become easily distracted.
