I'm very pleased to announce that Pennmush 1.7.7p38 is now a part of both testing and unstable releases of Debian Linux on all officially supported architectures. This means that PennMUSH will also be in the next stable release of Debian, Sarge, which is planned to be released within the next month.

Yes, we just had p37. But then one of our intrepid users found a crash bug that's been around for several patchlevels, so now you get the (rather small) patch38 to fix that up!

PennMUSH 1.7.7p37

Submitted by javelin on Mon, 2004-08-23 18:36

PennMUSH 1.7.7p37 is now released in the usual place. This version is primarily several important bugfixes for p36, but a couple of new features are included. @adisconnect is now triggered on every disconnection and gets passed lots of useful statistics about the disconnecting descriptor.

Note: If you downloaded p37 before 6:35pm (CDT) on 23 Aug 2004, get it again - there was a typo in the code that prevented compilation

Penn p36 + hspace 4.3.5 for win32

Submitted by Paige on Thu, 2004-08-19 10:18

Announcing the long awaited release of hspace 4.3.5 for pennmush p36 for Win32 users.

I appologize for the long wait. The p36 system contained a bug that had to be fixed before hspace could be compiled. With the help from Javelin@M*U*S*H, this was done with little problems.

You can download the precomiled binary on the pennmush FTP server at
in Win32Binaries/

Win32 PennMUSH and MySQL

Submitted by Noltar on Thu, 2004-07-22 16:43

While we cannot distribute precompiled Windows binaries of PennMUSH with MySQL support compiled in and enabled, I have written a README for building your own binary of PennMUSH using the Windows installation of MySQL available from the MySQL website. The README.MySQL is currently available as a part of the 1.7.7p34 tarball, in the win32 directory.

Win32 OpenSSL Update

Submitted by Noltar on Mon, 2004-06-28 12:43

With the release of 1.7.7p34 I've also updated the openssl version included with the binaries. The .dlls in the win32 directory are no openssl 0.9.7d. So those of you who upgrade and use the SSL support on Windows will want to copy the new dlls to your C:\Windows\System32 directory.
